Many people who are searching for the perfect golf community to call home are people who are searching for the perfect mix of recreation and quality real estate. If you are in the St. Louis area, there are several prime golf communities that you have to choose from. They all offer similar qualities such as desirable homes, top ranked school districts and of course pristine golf facilities. All you need to decide is what style of community you are seeking and how close to the heart of St. Louis you would like to live in your ideal golf community.

Wing Haven 

One area that has golf enthusiasts lining up for tours is the Wing Havencommunity. This area was first introduced in 1998 and is located about 45 minutes northwest of St. Louis city limits. Wing Haven features a Nicklaus Design Championship Golf Course, highly accredited K-5 elementary school, a senior living center and several fine dining establishments. Current listings for a home in this community average $280,000.

Turtle Creek

Another popular golf community located nearby is Turtle Creek. This area is located in O’Fallon Missouri. What’s different about this community is that it is mostly comprised of people who have relocated to the St. Louis area due to their employment by one of the major companies headquartered in the area. The Turtle Creek community prides itself on its diversity and close-knit residents. The golf course in this neighborhood is the Falls Golf Club, which is an 18-hole, par 71 public golf course. Homes in this division range from $189,000 to $360,000.

Bear Creek

Bear Creek Golf Course Community is another favorite residential area among golf enthusiasts. This area is located in Wentzville, Missouri and is also about 45 minutes outside of St. Louis. The Bear Creek Golf Course Community prides itself on its small-town charm. There are several different recreational activities to choose from here including; parks, two golf courses, an ice arena and several biking and hiking trails along the Missouri river. Residents in this area have access to public schools in St. Charles County, which have been ranked as some of the top schools in the nation. Homes listed in this area range from $179,000 to $650,000.

Lake Forest

Another private golf course community option is The Communities at Lake Forest. This neighborhood is located in Lake St. Louis, 40 minutes west of downtown St. Louis. Residents here can take advantage of an 18-hole private golf course at the Lake Forest Country Club as well as the many lakes perfect for fishing in the area. The country club also has tennis courts, beaches, horse stables, swimming pools and several parks for the whole family to enjoy. Houses in this golf community range from $145,000 to $950,000.

St. Albans

If you are looking for a bigger golf community, take a look at St. Albans. Not only will you get access to some of the best golfing in the St. Louis area, you will also get breathtaking views of the Missouri River. St. Albans offers several different types of neighborhoods inside its 5,400-acre residential community. There are homes   in every price range in this community starting at $250,000 and going all the way up to the $1.5 million mark. The golf course featured in the St. Albans Country club is an 18-hole par 72 Lewis and Clark Course designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish.
