CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ROUND 16 PREVIEW

Another round of champions league matches awaits us this Tuesday and Wednesday as we look forward to mouth watering matches. Yeswefoot looks to make her assertions on the matches we are all hungry to watch. First up, we have;

Manchester City vrs Barcelona

Definitely this is a match to watch as two great teams lock horns to prove supremacy in the elite soccer in Europe. Barcelona are of course the favourites to win this tie, but you can never underscore the potency of the Men in Blue. Manuel Pelligrini would be looking to avenge the 4-1 defeat aggregate at the hands of the Catalunya side during last year’s competition.

With the likes of African Cup winning captain Yaya Toure, confidence has been restored to the team as evident in their beating of Newcastle last weekend. Players like Aguero, Silva, Nasri and the in-form Dzeko should be poised for this match.

Barcelona are definitely one of the favourites to win the cup with the likes of Neymar, Suarez, Messi, Busquets, Rakitic and many more, you can bet they can do it again against the Cityzens. After going 11 matches unbeaten and then finally losing to Malaga over the weekend, the Catalunya based side would look to make amends and you can trust the supposed fearsome trident in Europe to do the job.

The only question now is, are the citizens well prepared to withstand the attack of the fearsome trident and also are the catalunya defense well equipped to contain the swift Aguero, the crafty Silva and the ever present Yaya Toure?

Players to look out for are the two Argentines, Aguero and Messi to do the damage for both sides

Prediction: 3-1 for barca

Juventus vrs Borrussia Dortmund

These two teams face each other with a contrast in their domestic league form. Juventus are still leading the pack in Italy whiles Dortmund are having a very unusual season. Klopp would have to produce some magic in Turin to make it four wins in a row in all competitions. The contract renewal of marco Reus may serve as inspiration to the team waking up from slumber.

Juve boss, Allegri would have to welcome back Vidal from the sidelines to help boost the team who have also had dreaded champions league experiences in recent years. Some 18 years ago Dortmund beat Juventus 3-1 to win the competition and a repeat would be a welcome party for the German guests.

Dortmund would also welcome back Eric Durm, Blaszczykowski, Hummels and Dudziak from flu

The players to watch out for are Reus and Aubameyang for Dortmund and Pogba, Tevez and Pirlo for Juventus.

Prediction: 1-1
