GHANA NAME 26 MAN SQUAD FOR AFCON
The head coach of the BlackStars of Ghana, Avram Grant has named a 26 man squad to battle for the AFCON crown. This squd would further be trimmed to 23 in the coming days as the team has settled in Seville, Spain for camping. A surprising absentee from the squad is FC Malmo star Enoch Adu-kofi who most pundits thought was going to make the cut. Another notable absentee is goalkeeper Stephen Adams who has been in post in recent times. Abdul Majeed Warris is also excluded from the squad due to in jury but it has been made known that the coach is still monitoring his injury situation before a final 23 man squad is released. The players called into camping are;
Goalkeepers: Fatau Dauda, Ernest Sowah and Razak Brimah
Defenders: John Boye, Jonathan Mensah, Jeffery Schlupp, Samuel Inkoom, Harrison Afful Baba Rahman, Awal Mohammed, Kwabena Adusei and Daniel Amartey.
Midfielders and strikers: Edwin Gyimah, Afriyie Acquah,Agyemang Badu, Mubarak Wakaso, Rabiu Mohammed, Christian Atsu, Solomon Asante,Ibrahim Moro, Andre Ayew, Frank Acheampong, Asamoah Gyan, Kwesi Appiah, David Accam and Jordan Ayew.
The Stars would are camping in Spain, Seville for 10 days before travelling to Equitorial Guinea on the 14th of January, 3 days before the tournament kicks off.
